Who We Are
A Foundation of Hope, Learning, and Growth for Special Children
Our Story
DADSS—Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Dream Special School—aims to provide fully inclusive, integrated education and world-class therapeutic services free of cost to 50 differently-abled children. Our goal is to nurture each child’s unique abilities by offering tailored education and medical therapy, creating a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Through this comprehensive approach, we focus on helping children overcome personal challenges and achieve meaningful development.
In addition to education and therapy, DADSS is committed to uplifting families, particularly single and underserved mothers of special needs children. We are developing a vocational training and self-employment center to empower these parents with livelihood opportunities, fostering financial independence. To further support families, we provide free tea, snacks, mid-day meals, and transportation to ensure children’s consistent access to education and care.

MISSION
DADSS is dedicated to fostering holistic growth in each child, creating a nurturing environment where relevant learning skills are developed. By discovering and nurturing each child’s unique talents, we aim to build their psychological and emotional strength, imparting essential mental and physical skills. This approach prepares them to become capable, successful citizens, equipped to thrive in a competitive world.
At DADSS, we believe every child deserves a safe, healthy, and enriching childhood. Our work focuses on providing individualized education that addresses the specific needs of differently abled children. Through dedicated efforts, we strive to empower children to reach their fullest potential, achieving meaningful personal, social, emotional, and vocational development.

Our Program
Special Care serves children, with and without special needs, through year-round, high-quality early childhood education, specialized care and on-site therapeutic services. Our mission is to nurture all children with and without special needs in safe, inclusive and supportive environments through education, therapeutic intervention and community acceptance.
With an average 3 adults in each of our 12 classrooms and 12 therapists working with children, many children who attend Special Care surpass the development predicted for them, some in significant and remarkable ways. On-site occupational, physical, speech and behavioral therapy gives families a “one-stop” opportunity to meet the needs of their child or children. Therapists, teachers, children, and parents work together to create activities, environments, and communication habits that best suit each child’s development. Barriers such as inaccessible equipment, social isolation, teachers without specialized training in special education, difficulty of transportation from school to after-school care, and limited therapeutic intervention often affect this population. Our program removes these barriers for our children and their families.
We divide our program into three components: Early Childhood Education, Specialized Care and On-site Therapeutic Services.
Support Needed to Establish Key Facilities at DADSS
To fulfill our vision for DADSS, we seek additional support to implement essential facilities and advanced resources. These contributions will enable us to create a comprehensive and inclusive environment that addresses the unique needs of each child, equipping them for a brighter future.
